Ensuring no Manitobans go hungry

Harvest Manitoba (formerly Winnipeg Harvest) is the fourth largest food distributor of its kind in Canada. They collect and share 11 million pounds of healthy and nutritious food with hungry Manitobans every year.

The Challenge

Harvest Manitoba feeds more than 83,000 Manitobans – hungry children, hardworking families, and adults – every month. With a consistent need for food assistance, keeping shelves stocked can be a daunting task. Winnipeg Harvest partnered with Solv Communications to share inspirational stories to build recognition in the minds of Manitobans.

The Solution

Solv Communications helped Harvest Manitoba feed a brighter future in our community.

We hosted a media event as well as filming and producing a video to launch the Breakfast2Go program. Aimed at feeding hope while fighting hunger, Breakfast2Go provides access to nutritious, healthy breakfasts for children on weekends at inner-city schools.

When shortages in food supplies ran critically low during holiday seasons, Solv Communications also put the word out across all media stations and social media platforms to encourage Manitobans to help fill this critical need for donations.

Solv Communications partnered with the Winnipeg Jets during the NHL playoffs to encourage fans to “bring a tin for the bin” to Whiteout street parties, playoff games and viewing parties.
