Cereals Canada 50th Anniversary

Serving up 50 years of solutions to feed the world.

For 50 years, Cereals Canada has served a vital role in supporting food security around the world. In 2022, it marked an historic milestone and celebrated its success as the number one promoter of Canadian cereals. They’re the experts when it comes to technical support on how to use Canadian cereals in staple foods like bread, pasta, and noodles. More than 51,000 people from over 55 countries have attended courses, webinars, training programs and in-country seminars hosted by Cereals Canada over the past five decades.

Solv Communications was top of mind for Cereals Canada and together, we created a memorable celebratory event that showcased how this iconic national industry association supports the Canadian cereals value chain and its customers.

You can’t have a party without special guests. Even Canada’s Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food joined in the celebrations. We then invited local and national media to share in the celebrations.

To showcase Cereals Canada’s expertise, we partnered with them and together created a fun interactive, educational event. Here’s how we did it.

The Challenge

Cereals Canada is home to some of the most innovative lab and pilot scale commercial processing equipment in the world. Located just steps from historic Portage and Main, their headquarters is in the heart of the city.

They have the only flour mill in Canada that’s located within city limits. Cereals Canada is also home to a bakery, a noodle, pasta plant, and analytical laboratories. They even have a partnership with a malting facility and state-of-the-art 250L pilot brewery that is on site.

To showcase all of this and share Cereals Canada’s knowledge with the media and international guests in attendance, here’s what we did.

The Solution

We worked with Cereals Canada to create the “Sip, Slurp, Slice, Spin and Stuff” media tour. Journalists took short tours of each station. At each site, experts shared how the organization is contributing to the global food supply. And we kept it interactive and fun.
